These organic waste gases can cause atmospheric pollution, endanger human health, and cause waste. Therefore, the treatment and purification of organic waste gas is imperative. In the 21st century, with the development of social economy and the enhancement of people's awareness of environmental protection, people have put forward higher requirements for environmental quality. At present, China's environmental problems are still very prominent, which has severely restricted economic development and the improvement of people's living standards. Among them, toxic organic substances have very serious environmental pollution. These pollutants have the characteristics of large emissions, wide pollution and difficult degradation. The pollution control of them has always been the focus of research by environmental protection workers.

1 Sources of organic waste gas

Organic waste gas is mainly derived from waste gas emitted during the production process of the petroleum and chemical industries. It is characterized by large quantities, large fluctuations in organic content, flammability, certain toxicity, and some odors, and the emission of chlorofluorocarbons will also cause the ozone layer. Destruction. Petroleum and chemical plants and petrochemical products storage facilities, printing and other petroleum and chemical related industries, occasions and combustion equipment that use petroleum and petrochemical products, and various transportation vehicles that use petroleum products as fuel are the sources of organic waste gas. . The sources and pollution pathways of organic waste gas are shown in Table 1.

2 Harm of organic waste gas to human body

The harmfulness of organic waste gas to the human body is multi-faceted, and the toxicity of organic waste gas in different industries is also different. Among them, the 10 kinds of common organic waste gas in industrial waste gas are mainly harmful to the human body: benzene organic compounds mostly damage the central nervous system It causes neurological disorders. When the concentration of benzene vapor is too high (2% in the air), it can cause fatal acute poisoning. PAHs are strongly carcinogenic. Benzoic acids can deform or solidify cellular proteins, causing systemic poisoning. When nitrile organic poisoning occurs, it can cause dyspnea, severe asphyxia, loss of consciousness until death. Organic nitrobenzene affects the nervous system, blood phase, and liver and spleen organ functions. Large-scale absorption of skin can cause death. Aromatic amines cause cancer. Diphenylamine, benzidine, etc. can cause hypoxia when entering the human body. Organic nitrogen compounds can cause cancer. Organophosphorus compounds reduce cholinesterase activity in the blood and cause nervous system dysfunction. Among organic sulfur compounds, low concentrations of thiols can cause discomfort, and high concentrations can cause death. Among the oxygen-containing organic compounds, inhalation of high concentrations of ethylene oxide can cause death; acrolein has a strong irritation to the mucous membrane; pentanol can cause headache, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.
